Motorola i897 Ferrari fue lanzado al mercado el año 2010, pero sigue siendo relanzado en enero de 2012 en América Latina, con Nextel y sus redes iDEN. Basado en el Motorola i890, han salido diversas versiones como Motorola i897 Ferrari, y al igual que en los ordenadores y otros productos, han explotado bien la imagen de Ferrari, incluso se han ido turnando diversas marcas a lo largo de los años.
Con sistema operativo propietario, pantalla interna de 2.2 pulgadas y externa de 1.8. Cámara de 2 megapixels. Memoria interna de 180MB y ranura de expansión microSD, Nextel lo vende con una targeta microSD de 2GB incluida.
